The home I left behind - the life story of New Zealand's first Tibetan refugee
Thuten's tells his remarkable journey of completing his education in India while the Chinese began their occupation of his homeland Tibet.
This project was an honour to work on - I was there from his submission of the first draft through to print day. On this project I not only worked on the book design, but also worked with the editor on the read of the story. Thuten has been in the printing business his whole adult life, so when it came to his book I needed to build a strong client relationship and trust to move the design forward.
Thuten's story has also been adapted for film Team Tibet: Home away from Home, it played at the 2017 New Zealand International Film Festival.
