For the Parenting place's Toolbox courses
Toolbox parenting groups run nationwide around New Zealand inspiring good parents to be great parents. The original manuals were spiral bound, black and orange duo-tone. My brief was to update the designs, improve the navigation and bring them to life in colour.
Once this mammoth task was complete, we had the framework (and most importantly the funding) to get to work on Building Awesome Whānau. Next we focused on making the content and design accessible for a broader audience and rooted in New Zealand culture.
The project spanned designing a course manual, working directly with writers, video production team and making sure the content met funding requirements. In this project I got the opportunity to work on a variety of components; including designing contemporary Maori motifs and illustrations of cultural significance, DVD titles and props for video content.
This project as a whole was art directed by Beth Peters (Senior Designer)
